Also known as American Motors Corporation, AMC was founded by the merger of Nash-Kelvinator Corporation and Hudson Motor Car Company in 1954. This was the biggest corporate merger in U.S. history during the time, setting the groundwork for many to follow. AMC was bought by Chrysler in 1979.
