BMW has built a solid reputation over the years for producing high-performance luxury vehicles. One of their latest releases, the BMW i4, is set to bring a whole new perspective to the motor industry in Canada. The 2022 BMW i4 comes in two versions, the i4 eDrive40, and the high-end i4 M50. According to sources at BMW, the base model can achieve 0-100km/hr in under 5.5 seconds while the M50 achieves an acceleration of 0-100km/hr in just 3.7 seconds.
Both models are fitted with a powerful 83.9kWh battery. The i4 can charge at a peak 200kW rate using a compatible charger when recharging. According to official figures, the battery can go from 10-80% in 31 minutes while using a compatible charger. The i4 M50 is the first of its kind made by BMW M GmbH.
The i4 boasts a futuristic interior design with several features to boost driver and passenger comfort. The most prominent feature is the driver-oriented cockpit that spots a sleek and flat instrument panel that sets a foundation for the modern appearance. Customers are also treated to a high centre console that gives the four-door vehicle a sporty feel while defining the driver's area and that of the passenger. The BMW i4 interior features the new BMW-Curved Display that combines a 12.3'' instrument cluster with a large 14.9'' Control Display that brings out the modern display that curves ergonomically to the driver's advantage.
The interior is also fitted with an updated iDrive 8 infotainment system with a new curved display. With this new design, the driver can access a full-size map even when using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
With this model, you don't have to worry about passenger space as it is designed to provide comfortable seating to up to five passengers. Both front and rear-seat passengers can stretch and wriggle around with ample head and legroom. The i4 also boasts sufficient cargo space of 470litres. This space can be extended by folding the rear bench seat to create a further 1290 litres of cargo volume.
The i4 also features optional BMW IconicSounds Electric that orchestrates the vehicle's drive sound in the interior. The key safety features expected on the ix4 include a standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assistance, and available adaptive cruise control with semi-autonomous driving mode.
The 2022 iX4 comes with standard warranty coverage used BMW's other electric cars. Some of these cover features include a limited warranty covering four years, a powertrain warranty for up to four years, EV components warrant covering eight years, and complimentary maintenance for up to three years.
