What to expect in the new redesigned 2022 Toyota Tundra?

The Toyota Tundra is one of the most popular full-size pickups on the market, and it's been redesigned for 2022. The new highly anticipated redesigned Toyota Tundra will be lighter and more aerodynamic than before, with a new suspension system that improves stability and handling. The interior has also been updated to improve comfort and convenience. Toyota has not yet set a release date but here is what we know so far.

2022 Tundra Exterior

You've probably seen the newly redesigned exterior of the 2022 Tundra. This redesign is a significant departure from its predecessor, with an entirely new front fascia and grille design. The headlights are slimmer, sleeker, and more elegant.

They redesigned the hood to be leaner and longer than before while providing ample space for engine components. Side air intakes have been transformed to appear sportier without sacrificing aerodynamics or fuel efficiency. And there are some minor updates in the rear:

· They have slimmed down the taillights slightly while retaining their signature shape.

· Smoothing out the bumper at all four corners perfectly.

· Side mirrors have grown larger for better visibility while driving in tight spaces or on curvy roads.

Upgraded Wheels

The newly redesigned exterior of the 2022 Toyota Tundra is beautiful, but it wouldn't be special without equally exquisite wheels to match. For this reason, all models will come standard with the latest alloy wheel design. Featuring a sleek five-spoke pattern accented by an eye-catching machined finish around the outer rim.

The front wheels are 20 inches in diameter, while the rear wheels are 22 inches big. The wheel wells are slightly bigger for improved handling and excellent stability at higher speeds. It has taken several years for engineers to perfect these designs, but drivers can attest that they were well worth the wait.

2022 Toyota Tundra Interior

The redesigned interior of this truck will be more comfortable for passengers, with new features like a power-adjustable steering wheel.

All models will have seats that are made to provide full lumbar support and come standard with heated front seats, both luxuries that were not available in the previous model. Furthermore, the cabin is quieter, and designed to reduce noise from outside sources.

The redesign has improved visibility inside by increasing headroom and adjusting the placement of controls on dashboards for better driver ergonomics. The media center has also undergone some improvement. It now comes with easier-to-read dash gauges and more customizable options.

Connectivity and Multimedia

Toyota has made sure to equip the new redesigned Tundra with all the latest and greatest technologies. Equipped with an all-new audio multimedia system designed by Toyotas engineers, the touchscreen display now includes what they call Human Machine Interface (HMI) making it easier to navigate through the touch controls. We cannot forget the new built-in Intelligent Assistant to join you on all your trips! The Assistant is there to help you with simple voice commands while driving such as volume controls and finding directions on the built-in navigation system.

You will also be able to stream music through your truck thanks to the Bluetooth Hands-Free system. The truck comes standard with Qi wireless smartphone charging and 2 USB outlets that are perfect for you and your passengers to charge all of your electronics on the go.

Safety Features

The redesigned Toyota Tundra comes with advanced features designed to keep you safe on the road. This includes Lane Departure Alert, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Front & Rear Parking Assist Sonar.

It also comes with seven airbags, a Vehicle Stability Control System with Traction Control, electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), an Electronic parking brake, child safety locks, and so much more! You can even come to a complete stop easier on hills with the easy-to-use Hill Start Assist feature.

Comfort and Convenience

There is no way your family will feel cramped with all the space this truck offers. Thanks to its 130" wheelbase and maximum cargo capacity of 108.3 cubic feet (with 60/40 split rear seat folded down).

The cabin also features an adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support and a dual-zone climate control system and leather-trimmed seating for front seat perfection. In addition, it has a keyless entry/keyless start, tilts & a telescopic steering wheel for added comfort. They added a new larger 8-inch touchscreen display (or upgraded to a 14-inch display), Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and much more!

Toyota Tundra Towing Capacity

The Toyota Tundra will come with a towing capacity of up to 12,000 pounds with the bed capable of a payload capacity of 1,940 pounds.

Toyota claims that this new version will be quieter, smoother, and more powerful than previous models with better fuel efficiency. The engine is designed for optimum performance at all speeds and loads.

Tundra’s New Suspension

The new suspension on the Toyota Truck is a vast improvement over their older models. The company updated the dampers and springs with an improved design that makes for a smoother ride across all types of terrain. Even when taking corners at high speeds, it handles nicely, which was one of our main complaints about the previous model.

The new suspension system also comes with two different height settings: standard and off-road. The off-road setting provides greater ground clearance, providing better stability while driving on bumpy terrain or through deep snow, however, if left in off-road mode will make for a rougher ride in town.

Engine and Transmission

The new model will have the most engine and transmission options in Toyota’s history, with three engines available. These include a 3.5L V6, 4.0L V6, and 5.7L V8 engine for the TRD Pro models only.

The new V6 engines include the 3.5L D-4S Injection system, a first for Toyota trucks. The engine itself is a dual injection system that uses both direct and port fuel injection, allowing for increased power and improved fuel economy.

The 4.0L V6 will feature a new version of the D-4S system, known as Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI), this technology helps increase fuel economy and vehicle performance. The 5.7L V8 engine is expected to also have an improved version of GDI, but differences aren't likely to be significant.

All three engines may use a 10-speed automatic transmission currently used in other Toyota vehicles, such as the 2018 Toyota Camry.

When it comes to transmission choices for the Tundra, TRD Pro models will choose between eight-speed and ten-speed automatic transmissions. The 8-speed automatic transmission will be available on all trims, and the ten-speed auto will only be available on the SR5 and Limited trim levels.

The TRD Pro will be available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, but all other trims will only be available with front-wheel drive. The redesigned Tundra is expected to increase performance across the board, mainly due to the new engine choices.
