The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 - Ultimate Power and Performance!
The new rendition of the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 has a unique style, class-leading fuel economy, and power that has yet to be seen in a half-ton truck.
The previous generations of the GMC Sierra 1500 have been loved by all who drive them. The new 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 is no different, but it has some great new features to give it an extra boost of love from its devoted fans. The vastly improved fuel economy is one significant improvement of the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 as GMC engineers have worked hard to improve fuel economy from the 2020 model, and they did just that! The 2021 model gets an estimated 13 L/100 combined, which is a vast improvement compared to last year's 14 L/100 combined. Not only does this truck get better gas mileage than most cars do, but it can tow more than most. The tow rating for this truck is 8,500 lbs, which is more than enough to pull anything on the road.
Another improvement over its predecessor is the style of the exterior. It looks much sleeker and modernized with thinner headlights and taillights. The grille on this new GMC Sierra 1500 gives it a muscular appearance that will attract many new buyers due to its improved aesthetic appeal. This model also comes in fun colours, including Blaze Red, Graphite Metallic, Pepper dust Metallic, Indigo Blue Metallic, Sable Brown Metallic, Ebony Twilight Metallic, Stone White Clearcoat, and Pueblo Gold Metallic.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 will come with an all-new 5-litre EcoTec3 V8 engine that will produce about 405 horsepower and almost 400 ft-lbs of torque. The engine will be paired with a new 10-speed automatic transmission co-developed by GM and Ford Motor Company. This transmission promises faster acceleration, lower emissions, improved efficiency, and improved performance than its predecessor's 8-speed automatic transmissions. The new 10-speed will also be paired with a more robust and lighter truck frame, resulting in more agile driving, making it one of the most efficient full-size trucks on the market today.
COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE
Being a half-ton truck, comfort and convenience are expected to be top-notch. The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 comes standard with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot for up to 7 devices, Bluetooth connectivity, a 110 volt 3 prong outlet, a 5-inch infotainment screen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility, and an 8-inch diagonal colour touch screen. The standard 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot is the same speed as your average smartphone, which will result in no loss of connection or speed. The GMC Sierra 1500 also includes a remote vehicle start, voice-activated navigation, and a subscription-based SiriusXM radio service.
Additionally, there are several available comfort and convenience packages for the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500. These include:
- ·Auxiliary Climate Controls - This package adds additional climate control buttons on the rear air vents so you can control all three zones' temperatures independently from one another without having to reach the front air vent controls. This package also includes heated rear seats for those cold winter mornings.
- Rear Camera Mirror - This package adds a rearview mirror with a tiny camera lens and infrared night vision capabilities. The Camera Mirror will give the driver a view of everything behind them, including cars, pedestrians, and other objects 2-3 feet behind you, which provides you with an extra sense of security that only comes with this feature. The picture is displayed on your infotainment system and allows you to toggle between seeing your surroundings and watching your reverse path.
- Color Head-Up Display (HUD) - This package includes a colour HUD screen right in front of the steering wheel so everything from current speed, radio info, vehicle alerts, navigation information, etc., can be viewed without taking your eyes off the road or any other controls such as knobs. This is especially useful when paired with the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot because it will allow you to have streaming music right in front of your eyes at eye level. You can also toggle between media screens, GPS maps, and radio stations without ever having to look down or take your eyes off the road.
- Cargo Box Options - There are several different cargo boxes available for the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500, depending on the trim package you select. There are also options for a spare tire rack, protective bed liner, spray-in bed liner, power up/down tailgate with LED lights built-in, cab-mounted storage bins above each wheel well, swing-out wheel wells that expand your truck bed space by an extra 3 feet, and a set of bed rails to give you more options when hauling.
The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 comes with the latest in safety features, including rear park assist, front pedestrian braking, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with lane change alert, 360-degree surround-view camera system, forward collision alert with brake support, and following distance indicator alerts for both cars and objects in front of you on your path of travel. This feature will hold your vehicle at a stop if there is an object in front of you while you are going under 30 km/h. It works by using lasers to map out your surroundings, which allows a clear picture of what is coming towards your vehicle, whether it be a car, a person, or an object. This system works automatically, activating itself when you are approaching intersections even if you don't have adaptive cruise control engaged.
The GMC Sierra 1500 also comes with the latest post-crash alert technology, which initiates after an accident by sending out your location to attached family members and emergency personnel. The hood will pop up after the airbags have deployed upon impact to prevent further damage while keeping you safe upon impact. Suppose power is lost due to this collision. In that case, there is also an internal battery included that will keep essential functions running for 10 minutes which provides for powering your hazards and interior lights and locking/unlocking doors depending on your preference settings.
The additional features included in the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 are extensive. Some of these include heated and cooled cupholders, wireless phone charging for both Apple and Android users, an integrated home link garage door opener, a built-in Wi-Fi hot spot that can be turned on or off depending on your preference, full-color head-up display that is customizable, personalized settings that can be adjusted to each driver's preferences including seat position/angle/temp/steering wheel position as well as the climate control temp/fan speed. You can also toggle between media screens, GPS maps, and radio stations without ever having to look down or take your eyes off the road! Another feature found under this package is an enhanced cruise control system that can be used in regular and stop-and-go traffic. In everyday traffic, the throttle/brake sensitivity can be adjusted depending on your preference, so you don't need to apply as much pressure to accelerate or brake during everyday commuting situations. The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 also comes with a spray-in bed liner, cab-mounted storage bins above each wheel well, swing-out wheel wells that expand your truck bed space by an extra 3 feet, and a set of bed rails. There is also a tire pressure management system and mud flaps built into the fenders over each tire.
GM is not stopping at the engine and transmission for this truck; they are also working on the aesthetics of the outside to make this truck look like a work of art! GMC takes its signature front grille and adds chrome accents to give it an elegant but sleek design. The body style has been slightly altered with new aluminum-alloy wheels, a lower front bumper, and LED headlights. The exterior appearance of the 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 has been designed using advanced nano-composite material that makes the vehicle lighter while also giving it more style and functionality. Some of the unique features you can expect to find included are: a redesigned grille that uses less fuel but still allows for optimal airflow, an active grille shutter system that closes during heavy rain or cold weather to keep your engine from overheating/freezing, depending on the season, wheel flares made from carbon fiber, dual exhaust vents integrated into the truck bed itself which help improve airflow when hauling cargo, upgraded LED lights which are brighter and use less electricity than current models, standard fog lights above each headlight as well as taillights to make visibility easier when driving at night no matter if it's raining or clear skies.
