All-New 2022 Nissan Frontier - 3rd Generation Redesigned

The new Nissan Frontier is finally here, and it is every bit as impressive on paper as we expected! The 2022 Nissan Frontier has been redesigned for the first time since the 2005 model year, with new exterior, interior, and suspension components.

The 2022 Frontier is built on the previous model's revamped high-strength steel ladder structure. It also features bold bodywork and uses popular technology, giving it an edge over other mid-size pickups on the market.

With its sporty, futuristic design and adoption of popular technology in bold colors like red or black gloss metallic, the newly released 2022 Nissan Frontier is set to take over as one of this generation's best.

The 2022 Nissan Frontier is powered by a 310 hp V6 paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, four-wheel drive, or rear-wheel drive, respectively. If you are an off-road enthusiast, you'll be pleased to find the Pro4x trim that offers more durable suspension systems for tackling rugged terrain and electronic locking differentials essential when going off-road in any condition!

What Is New in the 2022 Nissan Frontier?

The third-generation truck still rides on an aging frame from 2000 but has improved suspension for better handling and more comfort during driving.

The standard 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 engine is one of the best in its class. It produces 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque to edge out Chevrolet Colorado with 308 HP but miles ahead on acceleration.

The new nine-speed transmission has a 99% wider gear range that helps improve the outgoing model's performance while also hauling 1,610 pounds maximum rating - now tows 6 720 pounds!! As a bonus feature, trailer sway control comes standard so you can feel safe behind the steering wheel, knowing what kind of protection it provides.

The design of the new Nissan Frontier is a little more exciting than other mid-size pickups. From its unique high shoulder to square wheel wells that push outwards and upward into sharp points at each end, this truck looks like it was cut from metal blocks by laser etching blades.

What Are the 2022 Nissan Frontier Transmission, Fuel Economy, Engine, and Performance Specs?

The Nissan Frontier 2022 has always been an excellent truck for off-roading, but it's never had the refined feel that other trucks have. With its new quicker steering and numerous chassis enhancements like those found on more expensive cars, the new Nissan Titan was a blast to drive, and it had all the right features. Thanks to its improved steering system that reacts quicker than ever before, it felt more composed on treacherous roads than its predecessor!

Nissan's new 3.8-liter V6 engine is the same one that powered last generation 2020 models, which means there are no qualms about performance in any way whatsoever. It generates 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque for this Frontier model equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission or four-wheel drive.

If you're looking at other competitors such as Chevy Colorado ZR2 or Jeep Gladiator, then be aware they may have more capable suspensions! The Frontier has impressive performance capabilities when it comes to rugged terrain. Although this vehicle is not individually as capable off-road as other high-end trucks out there today, you still can take complete control if needed.

Nissan Frontier Fuel Economy

The Frontier offers class-competitive fuel economy ratings, but its V6 engine means it doesn't compare favorably with passenger cars and small SUVs. RWD models get 18 mpg city/24 highway/20 combined while 4WD get 17mpg in town & 22 on the highway for a total grade of 3 stars out of 5. On our grading scale, it means "Average."

2022 Nissan Frontier Towing and Payload Capacity

The Frontier's towing capacity maxes out at just 6720 pounds, less than its many competitors and the new Chevy Colorado. It still falls short of rivals such as GMC Canyon or Jeep Gladiator that can pull 7650 lbs! The maximum payload for this vehicle has increased by 160lbs, though. The payload increase is beneficial if you need more weight around on a trailer or in your car's trunk.

Safety Features

Forward collision warning, trailer sway control, a driver awareness sensor, and a rear door alert are among the new standard safety features included in the upgrade. Lane departure warningrear cross-traffic alertautomated rear emergency braking, blind-spot warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and automatic high beams are all available as options on all trim levels.

Connectivity and Infotainment System

The new 2022 frontier is equipped with an infotainment system that operates through a standard 8.0-inch or optional 9.0" touchscreen dash monitor!

The stereo also features two physical knobs for adjusting volume and tuning settings below the screen. In addition, it also has Carplay & Android Auto compatibility and several other charging outlets like USB-C ports. The ports give you greater flexibility when it comes time to charge your phone while driving on long journeys. Thanks to this high-tech vehicle's many innovative amenities, such as WIFI hotspots, drivers can stay connected without sacrificing any concentration during their trip.

Interior Design and Comfort Features

The Frontier provides an updated cabin much better than its predecessor. Not only does it have snazzier trim pieces like in previous years, but also newer features such as 7" color displays for both analog gauges and onscreen information at your fingertips!

With heated seats available too (and something we all need during this time), drivers can rest their bottom parts comfortably thanks to Nissan's supple Zero Gravity thrones.

The redesigned 2022 Frontier is a far better truck in practically every way. While it isn't a complete makeover, it's more competent, comfortable, and well-equipped, making it a strong competitor; it's also a better value and more capable option than the Chevrolet Colorado and Toyota Tacoma.
